Canto Inc., a company that offers Digital Asset Management (DAM) products and services, has announced Web Publisher Pro, a new option that allows users to publish Cumulus catalogs and to market digital assets on dynamic Web pages. It’s slated to ship in the second half of November with English, German and French user interfaces on Mac OS X, Windows, Solaris and Linux platforms.
Cumulus is an archiving system for multimedia data. The new option is based on the Cumulus Java Classes and is designed for users who want to market their assets, as well as publish them, said Jennifer Neumann, CEO of Canto. Potential clients include marketing departments, ad agencies, publishing houses, PR departments, museums, mail-order-houses and other user groups. The new Internet solution is compatible with Cumulus Workgroup Edition and Enterprise Edition.
Web Publisher Pro users can create dynamic Web pages that let visitors search for images and other documents within Cumulus catalogs using a standard Web browser. Images can be sorted and placed in a collection basket for download. The product, which boasts an incorporated ordering system — is customizable via the use of high-end HTML editors. And Web Publisher Pro integrates with Macromedia’s Dreamweaver Web development tool.
Web Publisher Pro uses Cumulus’ format conversion functions, which means that assets can be converted into other file formats, color spaces or resolutions before downloading.
A batch cataloging license of Web Publisher Pro will be available for US$1,495. A demo should be posted soon. If you’re interested in test driving Web Publisher Pro, register online and you’ll be notified when a demo is available.
