nStor Corp. has released its new NexStor product family: the NexStor 4000F 2Gbit (200 MB/s) Fibre Channel storage system, which offers both 1Gbit and 2Gbit Fibre Channel JBOD and RAID based solutions.
By supporting 1Gbit or 2Gbit Fibre Channel environments, nStor customers can stay within their existing 1Gbit environment or migrate to 2Gbit Fibre Channel, according to Dave Geene, nStor’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. The 4000 Series SCSI and Fibre Channel systems have common FRU’s (Field Replaceable Unit’s) and support integrated SCSI and Fibre Channel RAID controller technology as well as host-based, PCI RAID controllers.
The NexStor 4000F is a RAID-Ready JBOD and accommodates the industry’s fastest 15,000RPM disk drives and the largest capacity 146GB 10,000RPM drives, providing 1.7TB in 2U of rack space. Utilizing Fibre Channel technology, the 4000F can scale to 125 disk drives totaling 18TB in 22U (38.5-inch) of data center cabinet space. By integrating Fibre Channel RAID controllers, the 4000F JBOD can be converted to a high-availability, active/active RAID solution. The 4200F can also create different RAID ranks with varying RAID levels and drive capacities in the same array allowing the configuration to be “bus tuned” for your computing environment.
The hardware is compatible with Mac, Windows, UNIX and Linux systems. Go to nStor’s Web site for more details and configuration/pricing options.
