XrackHosting Internet systems engineer Bill Leonard said that users can burst up to 100Mbit/second with their service, compared to 1.5Mbit/second over a typical T1 line. This is due to the company’s Level 3 backbone which offers direct peering points to other major networks right inside the building.
XrackHosting services start as low as US$9.95 per month (billed annually), depending on what sort of features you’re looking for. Customer support is provided using Apple’s own iChat software — an industry first for a hosting service, according to the company.
XrackHosting is offering a special promotion until October 31st — users who sign up and transfer a domain to them qualify for an additional 10 percent discount on their chosen billing arrangement — monthly, quarterly or yearly. Folks who opt for the annual plan will receive a free T-shirt.
