Color management and image processing specialist Monaco Systems Inc. has released MonacoDCcolor, a new digital camera profiling solution for Mac and Windows.

MonacoDCcolor works hand-in-hand with GretagMacbeth’s ColorChecker target, ColorChecker DC target, or the Reflective HutchColor target (HCT). A digital capture of the color target is loaded into MonacoDCcolor, which evaluates the image, applies color balancing and compensates for uneven illumination, then builds an ICC profile. The ICC profile is used in turn to color-manage the workflow of digital camera captures to the color space of other devices, like monitors or color printers.
Monaco Systems Inc. sells MonacoDCcolor for US$399. It works on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, along with various flavors of Windows.
