In addition to its new digital camera profiling system, Monaco Systems Inc. has introduced MonacoOPTIX, a monitor calibration solution intended for both LCD and CRT displays.

MonacoOPTIX includes a colorimeter and software that can be used to maintain accurate and consistent color in your workflow, according to the developer. The colorimeter includes “intelligent electronics” for both LCD and CRT-based displays along with patented “Light Tunnel” technology to help get the most accurate LCD profile available. Other features include pulse-period timing for accuracy at low light levels, factory calibration to National Institute of Standards (NIS) levels; removable components; and more.
The software sports a wizard-like interface to help simplify profiling. MonacoOPTIX also sports user-selectable features like white point and gamma settings, along with hardware-assisted brightness and contrast adjustment.
What’s more, MonacoOPTIX is designed to integrate with MonacoEZcolor, Monaco Systems Inc.’s complete color management solution. MonacoEZcolor provides the ability to build custom ICC profiles for monitors, scanners and printers.
MonacoOPTIX is available for US$299 and works on Mac OS 9 and OS X, as well as Windows. Monaco Systems Inc. is offering a limited time $75 rebate for users of MonacoSENSOR or other similar monitor calibration tools. It’s also available as part of the MonacoEZcolor bundle for $548.
