A new site dedicated to Apple’s QuickTime technology launched over the weekend as a resource for developers and enthusiasts alike. Kevin Quinn and Clifford Van Meter, formerly of PlayBox Media, founded QuickTiming.org to fill a void they saw in the QuickTime community.
“We saw a need, for both ourselves and the QuickTime community,” Quinn told MacCentral. “We want to promote the technology as a whole, and make it easier for developers to create.”
In time the site will include an information knowledge base, a talent directory, tutorials, forums, tips, news, and hardware and software reviews. Sections on QTVR, Video and Interactive will also be added.
The advisory board for the organization is made up of names familiar to many in the Macintosh community — Jim Anders of Kaidan, Ben Waggoner, Dennis Biela, Lori H. Schwarz of Zentropy Partners and Dave Urbanic of Zoomify.
Currently QuickTiming.org has a couple of reviews, tutorials and other articles posted to their Web site.
