This Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24-25, will see MacMedellin 2002 held in Columbia. It’s a Mac event that will offer four free conferences, raffles, and gifts to the Medellin community, as well a chance for local folks to learn more about the Mac platform and Mac OS X.
Speakers will include Thierry Planchais, director of 4D Hispano. He’ll give two conferences: “4D and the Web: How to produce dynamic, secured and professional sites” and “4D: Develop your applications easily.” Planchais will also give away software from 4D at the end of the sessions.
There will also be local speakers from the Colombia MUG (Mac User Group) speaking at MacMedellin. They’ll cover such topics as “Mac OS X Jaguar: An Option to Convert” and “The iApps: Power, Beauty and Ease.” There’ll be raffles both days in which software from Ambrosia Software and books from O’Reilly Network — sponsors of the event — are given away.
“We are inviting the Colombian community to join us in this unique event that will be attended at the gorgeous and modern Library Luis Echavarria Villegas, located at the campus of the Eafit University in Medellin,” said César Alsina, one of the organizers of the event. “Since we expect high interest to this event, we are asking people to register for seats — and the chance to win at the raffles — at the event’s Web site. Registration is totally free.”
