Eovia Corp. today released an update for its 3D application Carrara Studio. The update, which fixes more than 120 bugs, brings the application to version 2.1.

Highlights of the update include Alpha Channel export in QuickTime movies for easier movie compositing; improved weight editing for skinning; improved Ray Dream Studio import; and faster rendering on Mac OS X. Other improvements and fixes are detailed on Eovia’s Web site.
The update, available now for download, was based heavily on customer feedback and requests the company said.
Eovia also strongly advised “that you do a complete reinstall of the Carrara Studio software before installing the update.” More information and a link for the download are available from Eovia’s Web site.
