Microsoft has released a new version of its
IntelliPoint mouse driver
software for Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X. The new version, 3.1, is ready for download from Microsoft’s Web site.
Microsoft’s IntelliPoint software provides programmability and customization for Microsoft’s line of Mac-compatible USB mice and trackballs. The IntelliPoint software enables users to adjust tracking speed, as well as global and application-specific assignments of buttons and scrollwheel functions (as applicable).
Documentation on Microsoft’s Web site about what’s changed since the last major release is scant, and system requirements are a bit confusing: Microsoft claims that the software is compatible with Mac OS 8.6 – 9.x and “Mac OS 10.1 to 10.3 (excluding Mac OS X).”
