Transmit 2 has been rewritten using Mac OS X’s Cocoa framework, and shares “not a single line of code” with its predecessor, according to Panic. As a result, Transmit 2 has been “completely modernized” while retaining a Mac interface “that feels like it came straight outta Cupertino,” according to the developers.
The new version of Transmit sports a new FTP engine, and now supports SFTP (to enable secure transfers); an image and text preview drawer that works for both local and remote items; path shortcuts; a built-in text editor; batch download window; automatic file queuing; improved synchronization; full AppleScript and more.
Transmit 2 costs US$24.95 to register. Registered users of Transmit 1 can upgrade for $16.95 with a valid serial number.
