You can take control of vintage vehicles and aircraft, or set out on foot as infantry with a variety of weapons at your disposal both with and against thousands of players, all rendered in 3D from a first-person perspective. The game is set in 1940 in the battlefields of Europe, recreating major battle points complete with equipment, strongholds, fortresses, forests, rivers and more, according to the developers.

As a massively multiplayer online game, World War II Online provides a persistent world 24 hour a day, seven days a week. Characters advance and career paths proceed as players engage in missions and participate in command structures.
The Mac version is coming in early November. To be distributed by Infogrames, World War II Online Mac Edition will also include a large foldout wall map of the battlefield, the official music soundtrack, and 20 original illustrations and wallpapers inspired by the game.
