Avid said that the new version of Avid XpressDV includes performance improvements and bug fixes. Specifically, hour glass, beachball, and spinning wheel problems have been resolved; issues related to audio and video drift have been corrected; desktop play delay sync is fixed; and importing QuickTime with an alpha channel (a Mac-specific problem) has also been corrected.
What’s more, several enhancements have been made in the new version. Support has been added for shared and non-local projects; XpressDV now supports Jaguar and QuickTime 6; Help has been added for the Avid Storage Manager; and new templates have been added for the Panasonic AJ-D455P, Sony DSR-25, Sony DSR-25-PAL, Sony DSR-45, Sony DSR-45P, Sony DSR 1500A/AP decks and Leitch DPS-575 transcoder.
