QPict Software has released QPict 5.2, the latest version of their flagship product and media asset manager. QPict can be used with Mac OS X or Mac OS 9 as an organizer and viewer for media files such as images, fonts, movies and more.
With the update, you can now import and catalogue images from your camera directly into QPict. The new version also allows you to export an entire index or selected media files as XML complete with all annotations, EXIF info, and other media info.
QPict 5.2 also adds Quartz text rendering, improved performance, optimization for Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar, JPEG 2000 support, improved PDF support, customizable fields, contextual menu support, enhanced Fonts support, and a batch process variable input.
Most dialogs are now implemented as sheets to adhere to the Mac OS X Aqua interface. QPict has a reorganized user interface that’s designed to be more logical and simple.
QPict 5.2 is a free update for registered users of QPict 5.x; for others, registration is US$35. It is available from the product Web site. A free trial version can also be downloaded.
