The ability to sell products on eBay has become a lucrative channel for many small businesses and entrepreneurs that might otherwise have to rely on conventional retail or expensive e-commerce systems they run themselves. Black Magik Software has made it easier for Mac-using folks in that situation to make money on eBay with the release of eLister 2.0, a new version of Black Magic’s auction listing assistant.

eLister enables users to create their own auction advertisements (listings) offline. eLister-built listings can be submitted to eBay from within the eLister application, when you’re ready to start your auctions.
The software automatically handles repetitive data entry and includes templates to make your auction listings more eye-catching; HTML formatting menus; customizable “Favorites,” “Insert” and “Web” menus; offline previews; and more.
eLister 2.0 uses eBay’s own developer API (Application Programming Interface) to interact directly with eBay’s system. This results in faster, more efficient posting, according to the developer. eLister 2.0 also includes more accurate offline previews, faster category searches, and improvements to the Insert menu. The new version supports fixed price listings, PayPal payments, post-processing options, audio cues and support for new template tags.
eLister requires a Mac running Mac OS 8.1 – Mac OS X, a full installation of QuickTime 3.0 or higher, Web browser, FTP space large enough to host images and a selling account with eBay’s US site.
eLister 2 is licensed on a monthly basis; a six month license starts at US$29.95. Add-on template packs for use with eLister and other eBay utilities are also available.
