Brother International Corp. has introduced the HL-7050 and HL-7050N, two new high speed laser printers aimed at the office and commercial markets.

Both printers sport up to 30 page per minute print speeds, 1200 x 1200 dot per inch resolution, and 32MB RAM (expandable to 288MB). They both come with two-line three color backlit LCD displays to provide access to status information and various features like one-button reprint job cancel, secure print and more. They can both handle up to 600 pages of input paper and up to 500 sheets of output paper, and sport CompactFlash storage capability. They’ll print in N-up, poster and watermark print modes.
Both units sport parallel and USB interfaces standard. The HL-7050N also has a 10/100baseT Ethernet networking interface (it’s optional on the 7050 model). Each model comes with a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and a 500-sheet lower paper tray. They use 12,000 page toner cartridges.
Drivers for Mac OS 8.6 and higher are included (including Mac OS X 10.1 or higher). Both printers are PostScript Level 3 compatible. The printers also sport various expansion options and enhancements, including an optional hard disk drive, the ability to expand input and output capacity, IrDA, font upgrades and more.
The HL-7050 and the 7050N cost US$999 and $1,099 respectively.
