The new title is aimed at kids ages six to ten, and it reinforces language arts, geography, mathematics and logical thinking skills, according to the publisher.
Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup — the Powerpuff Girls — must fly into action after Mojo Jojo, their arch-enemy, clones himself and threatens Townsville. Kids use math, vocabulary and reading skills to help the Powerpuff Girls restore order, smash the clones and battle Mojo Jojo in five different activities, each with five levels of difficulty.
For example, kids use Math skills to help Blossom play “high-altitude hopscotch” on skyscraper roofs as she captures clones; then they use spelling skills to help Bubbles activate a giant street sweeper to clean up the mess that Mojo Jojo’s clones have made. The game also includes printable activities, including a crossword puzzle, concentration cards, color pages, and more. Parents concerned about their kid’s efforts can use the Progress Tracking tool to see how the child is doing.
The Powerpuff Girls Mojo Jojo’s Clone Zone ships on hybrid CD-ROM and is compatible with Mac OS and Windows. System requirements call for Mac OS 8.6 or higher, including Mac OS X. The game costs US$19.99.
