EVOQE s.r.l. announced the public beta release of solidThinking DESIGN for Mac OS X.

Based on OpenGL and design for Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), solidThinking DESIGN is a surface modeling and rendering package aimed at industrial designers, style centers and CG artists. The software incorporates a parametric surface modeler tied to a “Construction History,” which enables users to model alternate designs without having to start from scratch.
Two other packages are also available to Windows and “Classic” Mac OS users: solidThinking LT, a low-cost 3D surface modeler, and solidThinking VANTAGE, a high-end CAID solution intended for engineers. The software’s developers have committed to producing OS X versions of the solidThinking product line.
The public beta debut of solidThinking DESIGN is available for download from Apple’s Web site. This first public beta does not include the rendering engine. More details about solidThinking DESIGN for Mac OS X are available from Apple’s Web site.
