Flex-P Inc., a provider of flash data storage solutions, has announced its 1 Gigabyte Type 1 CompactFlash Card.
Flex-P’s card will be on display at the annual COMDEX Trade Show from November 18-22 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. The company’s product line includes a family of compact cards ranging from 64MB to 1GB of Flash Memory, Secure Digital (SD), Flash Drives, Bluetooth Dongle and USB Flash Drives.
In September Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. introduced a 1GB CompactFlash card (designated the THNCF1G02MA), the highest density of CompactFlash then available in a standard Type-I format.
There’s a need for higher-capacity flash cards due to the increased popularity of higher-resolution digital cameras that enable storage of digital video, MP3 players, and other digital consumer products such as PDAs, said Brian Kumagai, business development manager for NAND flash memory products at Toshiba America Electronic Components (TAEC).
