MCE Technologies LLC has a new line of power adapters (two AC adapters and two automobile adapter models) for PowerBooks and iBooks.
There’s a combo AC power adapter, the auto cigarette lighter adapter kit for use with the PowerBook G3 (1997-2000), 3400, 2400, 1400 and clamshell iBook. There’s a similar kit designed to serve the PowerBook G4 and the dual-USB, 12.1-inch and 14.1-inch iBooks. Both have retail prices of US$44.95.
On all four adapters a built-in LED indicates live power. “Intelligent electronics” manage AC power input from both domestic and international sources, said Arnie Ramirez, president of MCE Technologies. The new power adapters are smaller and lighter than the AC adapter that shipped with some PowerBooks and iBooks, he added.
