If there’s a young artist in the family who might find Photoshop or Painter a bit daunting to use, there’s a new software application built with REALbasic that you might want to try out, instead: Palette from La Jolla Underground.
Palette is available for Mac OS X, as well as older Mac OS and Windows, and it provides a few simple painting tools like pencils, line tool, oval tool, paintbrush, eraser and more, without overwhelming the user with advanced capabilities and functions. Palette also saves files in cross-platform compatible formats and as PICTs on the Mac.
System requirements call for Mac OS 8.1 or higher, or Mac OS X. And best of all, Palette is free.
