Shareware developer Steve Becker has updated PrintMagic for Mac OS X to version 2.0. PrintMagic is a customizable product designed to provide users with complete control over the information they print.
PrintMagic lets users select the text that they want to print in virtually any program, anything from a single character to multiple pages, Becker said. It eliminates the need to print an entire page or pages when all a user wants are some snippets, words, sentences or paragraphs.
The application supports styled and colored text and includes a virtual Desktop Printer that supports drag-and-drop printing. PrintMagic lets you save your selections to a file and you can add on-the-fly notes to any data that you print.
Version 2.0 lets you print selected text in any application by using a new universal keyboard shortcut. You can configure the application to launch either in its Full Display mode or as a Desktop Printer.
PrintMagic 2.0 has been optimized for use with AOL’s built-in chat client, AOL’s Instant Messenger (AIM), and iChat. The update also enhances the ability to automatically adjust the application’s position when its display mode is changed.
PrintMagic requires Mac OS 10.1 or later. A free, fully functional demo version is available for download. Registration costs US$24.95.
