In a strange twist today, Dell Computer Corp. has started selling the iPod MP3 player made by rival computer maker Apple Computer Inc.
“Yep, Dell is reselling iPods,” Apple said in a statement provided to MacCentral. “We are delighted to offer our 5GB, 10GB and 20GB iPods for Windows through Dell’s direct retail channel. iPod has been a big success to date, and we would like to make it even bigger.”
Earlier today Apple announced an agreement with Target to sell the iPod through more than 1,100 stores nationwide. Target will only sell the 10GB model, but will stock both the Mac and Windows version.
Target will also have a working iPod available for customers to try out before buying.
