Karelia Software has released Watson 1.6, the latest update to its popular Mac application for retrieving Web content and services. The new version now features integration with iCal, Mac OS X’s Address Book, and El Gato Software’s EyeTV.

iCal and Address Book are both provided by Apple for Mac OS X 10.2, “Jaguar,” users. EyeTV is the software/hardware combination that enables Mac OS X users to view and record programs from their television or cable system.
The new version of Watson now integrates TV programming with EyeTV, enabling users to select a TV show from the time grid and schedule the show for recording — a more convenient solution than El Gato’s own Web-based system, according to Karelia. It also improves integration with the Phone and Movie plug-ins.
Watson 1.6 is a free update for registered users. It costs US$29 and can be downloaded as a fully functional expiring demo version. Watson requires Mac OS X 10.1 or higher.
