Apple’s Games site has been updated with a feature on World War II Online, the new online action game from Strategy First. There’s a QuickTime trailer, too.

Other recent World War II-era games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Medal of Honor: Allied Assault enable a handful of players to participate in online games. World War II Online is different because thousands of players can all play at once in a shared online domain that totals about 1.5 million square miles of detail.
What’s more, you’re not just limited to combat on foot as infantry. World War II Online also lets you hop behind the yokes of combat aircraft, or join the crew on a tank or truck. You can choose from various mission types, and the more successful you are the higher your rank will grow.
Brad Cook’s feature on World War II Online also includes comments from the game’s developers. Cornered Rat Software spokesman Rodney Hodge said that his company “couldn’t ask for more” from Mac OS X as a development environment and also speaks highly of Apple’s flat-panel iMacs, which provide “the kind of processing and graphics power that World War II Online: Mac Edition needs.”
