Apple on Wednesday released an update to its backup utility for paid members of .Mac. Backup 1.2.1 is available for download from the .Mac downloads section once you login.
The Backup application gives .Mac members a way to save their files to their .Mac account or on CD or DVDs. By clicking a checkbox, you can choose to backup your Address Book contacts, Stickie notes, iCal calendars, keychain passwords and other Apple related files on your hard disk. You can also add files or folders on your own to backup.
Restoring files can be done from .Mac or from a CD/DVD by choosing the restore option on a drop down menu in the Backup application.
