January’s Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, California, will feature the second Final Cut Pro (FCP) User Group Theater. Hosted by the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group, in conjunction with other FCP user groups (including SF Cutters, the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group, and Mac Filmmakers), the theater will feature a full schedule of classes, sessions and spotlights on the many aspects of digital storytelling.
One of the sessions will be a showcase of iMovies produced by Macintosh User Groups (MUGs). Many MUGs around the globe are creating and using iMovies to highlight and promote their group, document their events and more, according to Chuck Joiner, editor-in-chief of The MUG Center, the online resource for Mac User Groups (MUGs).
Entries will be accepted in November. Details on how to submit them will be available soon at The MUG Center.
MWSF will run Jan. 6-10 at the Moscone Center. For details, including registration info, go to the Expo Web site.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s User Group Web page.
