Tenon Intersystems’ iTools — which provides Mac OS X Server users with a Web-based graphical user interface to help maintain Apache, DNS and FTP services — has been updated to version 6.5.7.
The new package updates Apache to version 1.3.27, mod_ssl to 2.8.12, and OpenSSL to 0.9.6g. It also includes software improvements in a number of areas and makes running on Mac OS X Server seamless. Besides updating the iTools 6.5.7 core package, the PHP package was also updated to the latest version, 4.2.3-2.
iTools 6.5.7 is a free update for existing customers; otherwise the cost is US$299. From now until the end of the year, Tenon is offering all new iTools 6 customers a free copy of David Pogue’s “The Missing Manual (2nd edition),” along with a free license for iTools 7.
In 2003 Tenon will introduce iTools 7, which will support Apache 2 and will have new features, including domain-specific administration and built-in Web traffic log summary reports, according to Anita Holmgren of Tenon. A public beta of iTools 7 is now available from Tenon’s Web site.
