Apple has named Tony Ho vice-president of its Asia Pacific operations, according to a
article. He’ll report to John Brandon, vice-president of the Americas and Asia Pacific.
Ho will be based in Beijing, China, and will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and business plans to grow the company’s revenue in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan). His job will also include expansion of Apple’s customer base, lead sales and marketing function and direct the channel strategy throughout the region.
Ho joined Apple from IBM where he was general manager and director of the greater China PC division for the remodeling of operations to increase sales in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Brandon joined Apple in June 6, 2001, in his current position. He came from Academic Systems Corporation (ASC), where he served as president and chief executive officer.
