KennettNet has released Writer 3.0, a new version of their small word processor for Mac OS 8 and higher, including OS X. The new version sports new features and enhancements, and costs only US$10 to register.

Developed using Real Software’s REALbasic development environment, Writer 3.0 provides you with a basic word processing and text editing environment complete with text manipulation tools, support for HTML and RTF, a spell checker for OS X users and more.
Changes from the last major release, 2.8, include automatic smart quotes, automatic document backups, text tools for automatic text manipulation like uppercase, lowercase, capitalize words, strip leading “>” marks, and more.
What’s more, images embedded in your Writer documents now export to SimpleText format (they import, too), improvements have been made to suit Mac OS X 10.2, “Jaguar,” the interface has been tweaked, file saving routines have been improved, and CPU efficiency has been improved.
Writer 3.0 is a free upgrade for existing users.
