Canto has announced the release of Web Publisher Pro, a new option for Cumulus users to publish catalogs and other digital content on the Internet. Web Publisher Pro is based on Cumulus Java classes and JSP technology, according to the developer, and it’s compatible with Cumulus Workgroup Edition and Enterprise Edition.

Developed for marketing departments, ad agencies, publishers, PR departments, and other organizations that intend to repurpose content for marketing and business generation, Web Publisher Pro creates dynamic Web pages that enable users to search for images and other documents in Cumulus catalogs using a standard Web browser.
Once images or other content has been identified, the user can place the items in a collection basket and download them. Web Publisher Pro uses an integrated ordering system and sports higher performance than the “standard” Web Publisher option, which will remain available, according to Canto. It can also be integrated with external databases like mySQL, for example.
Web Publisher Pro is now shipping in English, German and French. It works on Mac OS X, Windows, Solaris and Linux, and costs US$1,495 per server installation. Upgrades for Web Publisher installations are available.
