ArKaos has updated VJ, the tool for creating real-time and recorded visuals, and is offering their clients three new services via their Web site.
ArKaos VJ is a real-time multimedia program that offers an innovative way to edit and manipulate a visual performance while it’s running, something that’s not been possible before, according Marco Hinic, engine architect and CEO. Targeted to VJs, DJs, installation and event artists, as well as businesses, the product lets you create live visual animation, using existing image and movie files. And you can add different real-time effect types and sequences.
The latest version (2.2.1) of ArKaos VJ offers direct access to the recordings from the patch window. Last used documents have been added to the file menu and new demos are now available from the file menu. ArKaos VJ 2.2.1 is compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x, as well as Windows.
A demo version, good for 21 days, can be downloaded at the ArKaos Web site. Also, the Japanese ESD version of ArKaos VJ 2.2.1 is available now.
The first new service being offered by ArKaos is “visuals on streaming,” movies are encoded in MPG-4 format and streamed from their server thanks to QuickTime 6. Examples of the streaming demos can be found at the company site. The company is also offering a new a forum Web site and support service with several different topics. ArKaos has also launched an Affiliates Program that gives clients the chance to earn cash hyping ArKaos products.
