The new drives top out at 52x24x52, according to the company, which means that they could burn CD-Rs in as little as 90 seconds, and burn to rewriteable CD-RW media in about 3.07 minutes. The drives feature 2MB buffers and buffer underrun technology — a necessity for high-speed burning.
EZQuest’s Boa drives come in light-gray shielded chassis, equipped with a 50 watt auto-switching power supply, data cable, and software — CharisMac Discribe is included for Macs, while Nero ships for PCs. EZQuest said the Boa works on Mac OS 8.6 or later — including Mac OS X — as well as various flavors of Windows.
Shipping now, the Boa 52x costs US$189.
