Media 100 Inc., which develops advanced media systems for content design, has announced Final Effects Complete for Mac OS X. Final Effects Complete is a special effects toolkit for Apple, Adobe, Avid and Media 100 nonlinear editing customers.
It comes with over 100 software plug-in filters and transitions that generate Hollywood-style special effects for film, video, animation, DVD and CD-ROM content.
Also, for the first time, the Final Effects plug-ins can also be accessed directly from within Apple’s Final Cut Pro, according to Mike Savello, vice president of corporate communications for Media 100. The product can be used to generate full-featured 2D and 3D particle animations directly within digital media solutions such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Boris RED, and other applications supporting the After Effects plug-in interface standard.
These particle filters enable video editors to generate rain, snow, fire, smoke, ball action, explosions, distortions, jet trails, hair, liquid mercury distortions, spotlights, color transitions, and other video effects.
Final Effects Complete for Mac OS X is priced at US$795 and will be available by the end of year through Adobe After Effects resellers and direct from Media 100. However, for a limited time introductory promotion, customers can buy Final Effects Complete for Mac OS X for $695.
Existing Final Effects customers can upgrade to Final Effects Complete for Mac OS X for $249 directly from Media 100. But there’s also an ongoing promo for this, as well. Existing customers can now upgrade for $199. Both promos expire February 21, 2003.
