If you know someone who’s considering switching to the Macintosh, CompUSA is offering a special promotion that you might want to let them know about. Through December 7, you can pick up an eMac and Detto Technologies’ Move2Mac migration kit, and get Move2Mac for free after a rebate.

With the purchase of an eMac, buyers can take advantage of a US$50 rebate on Move2Mac. Move2Mac sells for $49.99 (excluding sales tax), so you’ll actually net yourself a penny after all is said and done.
Move2Mac is Detto’s hardware and software-based solution that enables Windows “Switchers” to migrate their data files and application software settings to the Macintosh, using simple-to-configure software and a USB cable. No networking or system configuration is required; you simply plug in the cable, set up the software on both machines, click a button and get it going.
The eMac is Apple’s CRT-based all in one machine. The system uses a 17-inch display and a PowerPC G4 processor with Nvidia GeForce2 MX graphics. The systems are offered with 700MHz or 800MHz processors and either 40GB or 60GB hard drives, with optical drive options including DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drives and DVD-R “SuperDrives.”
Users who want to take advantage of this deal must purchase the eMac and Move2Mac by December 7, and the mail-in rebate — available as a downloadable PDF from CompUSA’s Web site — must be postmarked by December 21. Terms and conditions apply, so please read the documentation carefully before making a purchase.
