Macromedia Inc. on Thursday updated its Web authoring application, Dreamweaver. Version 6.1, which offers several improvements, is available for download from Macromedia’s Web site.
Dreamweaver MX 6.1 offers improved performance and provides the ability to administer Contribute sites from within Dreamweaver MX. Macromedia advises applying the update even if you don’t plan to use Dreamweaver with Contribute because of the number of improvements and bug fixes included with the update.
Announced on November 11, Contribute is a desktop application designed to provide an easy-to-use way for non-technical users to update Web pages and add pages to existing Web sites.
Macromedia plans to release a Mac OS X version of Contribute, although no timetable was given for its release.
