Classic Menu, a utility that brings back the classic Mac OS Apple menu to Mac OS X, has been updated to version 2.6.2.
Like the traditional Mac OS 9 Apple menu, it displays the icons and names of files and folders in the Classic Menu Items folder and uses hierarchical menus to display folder contents. However, the standard Mac OS X apple menu is always readily accessible, either by clicking in a user-specified area of the Apple icon or while holding down a customizable modifier key.
Version 2.6.2 adds French and German localizations, removes the depth limitation of five hierarchical menus for Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar, improves visual compatibility with dark system themes, and contains other minor fixes and improvements.
Classic Menu is US$10 per license and is now available for download. A bundle of the utility with a license for Drop Drawers X ($20 on its own) is $25. Drop Drawers is a user-interface enhancement for the Mac OS or Mac OS X that provides floating pullout, snap-shut drawers on the sides of your screen to store text, URLs, aliases, scripts, pictures, sounds, movies and more.
