Chaotic Software has released a new product, Vorbis Rage 1.0, and updated two others (MP3 Rage and Mac Army Knife).
Vorbis Rage, a product available exclusively for Mac OS X, is a collection of tools for Ogg Vorbis enthusiasts. Ogg Vorbis is an audio file encoding technology.
With Vorbis Rage, you can edit Vorbis “comments,” which are analogous to MP3 ID3 tags that contain information about a particular audio track such as artist, album and more. You can individually edit files with Vorbis Rage using QuickEdit windows. Or you can batch change them with the Comment Changer tool. You can also generate a catalog of your entire collection.
Vorbis Rage is available immediately for a suggested retail price of US$19.95. It requires Mac OS X — version 10.2 (“Jaguar”) is recommended. A 15-day free trial is available for download from Chaotic Software’s Web site. The application is localized in the English and Japanese languages.
MP3 Rage, the MP3 Tag Editor software built specifically for the Mac, has been updated to version 5.4, which adds the ability to pin the artwork in the Artwork Browser. It also adds support for using “q” as the Composer tag in data expression to allow adding composer information to catalogs, file names, etc., as well as the ability to sort filenames containing numbers in a natural order in the Track Numberer.
MP3 Rage 5.4 is now available for download at a suggested retail price of $24.95. This update is free for users of version 5.0 or later. Users of MP3 Rage prior to version 5.0 can upgrade for US$10. MP3 Rage 5.4 requires Mac OS X or Mac OS 9.x.
Mac Army Knife — a general purpose application stuffed with features such as a File Finder, File Attribute Modifier, Developer Value Converter, ASCII table, Mac Errors List, Stop Watch, and Egg Timers — has been revved to version 2.8. The update adds scroll wheel support, new Contextual Menu plug-ins and more.
Mac Army Knife 2.8 costs $24.95. This update is free for previous users of Mac Army knife. Mac Army Knife requires Mac OS X, or Mac OS 9.x.
