UK’s MacUser magazine recently gave out its MacUser Awards 2002. Apple scooped up five awards in the process, while Adobe Photoshop 7 grabbed a few along with Macromedia.

Apple took home both Special awards for its 17-inch iMac — Product of the Year — and Rendezvous networking technology — Innovation of the Year. The Cinema HD Display won in the Display category, Final Cut Pro won for best video and production software, and iMac was voted hardware of the year by MacUser’s readers.
Other hardware winners included D-Link, for its Bluetooth USB adapter; Nikon’s Coolpix 5700 digital camera and Canon’s XM2 DV camera; the Epson Stylus Photo 950 inkjet printer; HP Scanjet 3570c flatbed scanner; and LaCie’s multipurpose flash media interface, the Hexa Media Drive.
Software winners beside Adobe and Macromedia include NewTek’s LightWave 3D 7.5; Microsoft Office v.X; Aspyr Media’s Medal of Honor: Allied Assault; studio image masking tool Maskerade 1.1; music production software Reason 2.0; Roxio’s Toast with Jam CD mastering software; and more.
