Geek Cruises, the company behind the MacMania “seminar-at-sea,” has developed a cruise that school-age kids can attend.
” Arctic Exposure: An Alaska Digital Camera Workshop ” will run from Friday, June 27, to Friday, July 4. Cabin rates (per person plus taxes) are: inside cabin, US$1099; “better inside,” $1199; outside cabin, $1599; “better” outside, $1699; and mini-suite, $2099. However, while certain categories last, Holland America is running a 20 percent off special through December. (The sale prices are subject to availability at the time of booking; you can, however, make your booking contingent on the sale price.) The two-day workshop costs $495.
The workshop will cover the latest digital camera and printing technology in a hands-on laboratory environment. And participants will be set loose with a camera to go shooting on the ship or in the Alaskan wilderness. Booking for ” Arctic Exposure ” can be made online.
Meanwhile, Geek Cruises is planning the MacMania II ocean cruise. Dubbed “An Hawaiian Escape,” the cruise will be held June 1-8, 2003. For more info, go to the cruise Web site.
