Wolfram said that the new version is a specially designed toolkit created to help math teachers in high schools and community colleges save time, simplify work and help students. What’s more, Wolfram noted that the new version is part of Apple’s recently announced Math Curriculum Mobile Lab, a custom-configured set of iBooks and courseware designed to help teach math.
Mathematica Teacher’s Edition sports a custom interface, and has a point-and-click assignment generator. It also includes ready-to-use demos, interactive courseware, editable math typesetting, and Mathematica’s vaunted calculation system.
The package enables math teachers to perform symbolic and numerical calculations in basic math, algebra or calculus; build custom assignments and quizzes; generate answer keys and verify solutions; show 2D and 3D demos; and more. It’s also designed to work hand in hand with Wolfram’s other products, including Mathematica for the Classroom and Mathematica for Students.
Mathematica Teacher’s Edition for Mac OS X costs US$195; upgrade, network, and site license discounts are available.
