Apple is planning to open its first retail store in Hawaii, at the Ala Moana Center, according to a Honolulu Star Bulletin article. The newspaper says that the company isn’t commenting, but is running advertisements on its Web site seeking applicants for a store manager and assistant manager for a new Ala Moana store.
The company is also looking for folks to fill Honolulu jobs described as “Mac genius” and “Mac specialist.” Apple has been busy in Hawaii lately. As previously reported, Apple has “a thriving local Mac market and healthy prosperity” for Hawaii’s handful of competing Apple service providers. And Apple is helping local schools in their efforts to restore creative arts studies.
Apple is on track to have 50 retail stores open in the U.S. by the end of the year. Seattle, Washington, is also purportedly to have an Apple store in its future.
