Developer Riccardo Ettore has released a Mac OS X native version of TypeIt4Me, a tool that expands abbreviations as you type.
The utility has been in testing for quite some time, but now that it’s finished, you can use it to define your own abbreviations. If you’re still running Mac OS 9.2.2 or lower, you’ll want to use TypeIt4Me 4.8.2.
TypeIt4Me for Mac OS X costs US$27; upgrades from the Mac OS 9 version are $9. A copy of the software, as well as a fully functional, 30-day demo is available at the TypeIt4Me Web site.
