In September MacCentral brought readers
news about Hubzilla, an unusual four-port FireWire hub sold by Charismac. Well, CharisMac has redubbed the device
FireDino, and recently noted that its first production run of the hub is almost gone.
Charismac vice president of sales and marketing Tony Overbay recently noted that there’s been “incredible demand” for the FireDino, which stands eight inches tall and resembles a creature from Japanese monster movies. FireDino’s eyes and mouth light up with fierce red and blue glows when he’s plugged in to a FireWire bus, and provides a bizarre and kitschy accent to your Mac setup.
The US$74.95 FireWire hub is still available in limited supply, and Charismac assures folks who order in the next few days that FireDino will get there in time for Christmas — provided they don’t sell out, or FireDino doesn’t go on a rampage through downtown Tokyo in the meantime.
