Credo Interactive — a company that creates content, products and solutions for 3D character animation applications — is offering special pricing on its Life Forms Studio and Life Forms Dance character animation packages that just recently obtained Mac OS X compatibility.
Life Forms Studio 4.0.1 is the professional animators’ version of Life Forms, which provides support for most 3D animation packages and includes over 750 ready-to-use motion files. It can be used to animate bipeds, quadrupeds or even sea brine, whether you’re dealing with two, four or multitudes of limbs. Life Forms Studio supports 3D Studio Max, LightWave 3D, ElectricImage, Poser, and Cinema 4DXL formats, plus any programs that use BVH, Acclaim or HTR motion capture data. The regular price is US$495, but Life Forms Studio 4.0 is now being offered for $295.
Life Forms Dance 4.0 is targeted to choreographers and dance educators. It offers 3D workspace where users can “bring your dancers to life.” Version 4 now includes Dance Default Figures, specifically configured for optimal performance in animating choreography. Life Forms also has a new, interactive Web-based Animation Viewer, which lets you share your creations online. Life Forms Dance includes Ballet Moves, a collection of classical ballet animations and tutorials by author and educator Rhonda Ryman. The normal cost is US$249, but Life Forms Dance 4.0 is now on sale for $149. Educational pricing is also available.
