FontAgent Pro, Insider Software’s Mac OS X utility that handles font management and repair, has been updated to version 1.0.2.
FontAgent Pro can help users eliminate corrupt fonts, partial and unmatched fonts, duplicates, unnecessary point sizes, and generate optimized and organized font libraries. You can also use FontAgent Pro to build font libraries and sets, deactivate or activate them as necessary, preview them, and keep open only the fonts you need for current projects. Insider Software bills FontAgent Pro as the “first and only font-management Cocoa application on the market.” The software is optimized for Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar.
Version 1.0.2 optimizes performance and adds several new features. Adding a folder of fonts to a library automatically creates a set in the Set pane that’s named for the folder, allowing you to see, with a glance, the origins of a particular font collection. FontAgent Pro now automatically saves the last point size specified in the FontPlayer, Insider’s proprietary interactive font viewer that lets you vary fonts, sizes, and styles in real-time.
FontAgent Pro requires for Mac OS X 10.2 or later, 3MB disk space and 7MB RAM. It costs US$99.95 and is available for download from Insider Software’s Web site. Upgrades from previous FontAgent products are available, as is a trial version.
