Badia Software has released Similarity, a new XTension for the Mac version of QuarkXPress 4 and 5. Similarity is designed to enable users to make global changes to items sharing similar attributes.

With Similarity, you can build search queries with unlimited conditions and restrictions, according to the developer. It has more than 50 attributes that can be combined in constructing searches, including picture file information. Similarity supports conditional expressions like “is,” “is not” and “is greater than” as well.
What’s more, Similarity adds a “recording” feature that keeps track of new attribute changes made to the item that began the search when similar items are gathered; you can then apply the changes to the previous matches found.
Similarity XT is available for US$59.99. It requires Mac OS 8.5 or later, and QuarkXPress or QuarkXPress Passport 4.1x or 5.x.
