Paired with Decisionmark’s TitanTV.com service, the Formac Studio DV/TV can now be used for digital video recorder (DVR) programming on the Macintosh, similar to what El Gato Software has done with its own EyeTV product. TitanTV.com is a no-fee service that provides television listings based on your street address. With the TitanTV service supported by Formac’s software, users can schedule recording of TV content straight to their Mac’s hard disk.
Studio DV/TV is an external FireWire-based interface that enables users to capture and convert analog television and video signals into DV format, which you can use with professional video editing applications. The Studio DV/TV sports an integrated TV tuner and accepts input from S-Video, composite video and more.
Formac noted that Studio DV/TVs shipping today include the TVR software. It’s available for existing users for download from the Formac Web site. The Studio DV/TV has a suggested retail price of US$399.
