Imagistics International Inc., a company that offers document imaging solutions, has rolled out a new digital printer/copier, the DL850, that operates at 85-pages-per-minute and has a 750,000 maximum monthly impression volume.
The DL850 sports a standard five-way, user-adjustable 2,350-sheet paper supply and has an option for a 4,400-sheet tray that boosts maximum paper capacity to 6,750 sheets. Every DL850 paper source accepts up to 110 pound index stock to produce jobs with covers, tabs, and inserts. Standard Stackless Duplexing technology enables the DL850 to produce up to 9,999 sets of one- or two-sided output in a single job, according to Nathaniel Gifford, Imagistics’ vice president of Product Development and Marketing.
The printer/copier has two finisher offerings. The Multi-position Stapling Finisher provides eight-position stapling up to 100 sheets. For booklet making requirements, the Booklet Finisher can automatically produce a 64-page booklet that’s saddle-stitched and folded. By adding the optional in-line Trimmer Unit, you can cut the “creep,” or stair-stepped effect off the open end of the booklet. A Post Engine Cover/Sheet Insertion Unit lets you incorporate preprinted pages (such as color covers printed on a color copier) into finished document sets.
The DL850 makes all system capabilities accessible directly from the desktop using Fiery technology from EFI, according to Gifford. Any connected user can program advanced paper selections, manipulate images and select the full array of finishing functions right from their personal computer, he added. The Fiery X5 print controller enables connectivity into networks running various operating systems, including Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x.
