Shareware developer Stick Software has released Measles 2.0 for Mac OS X, a new “desktop companion” application that displays animated Aqua-style spheres which actually reflect what’s happening on your Mac.

You can configure the Measles to change their appearance and behavior based on definable criteria, such as what the load is on your Mac’s processor, how much free memory you have, or how much disk space is available. You can also toggle sounds on or off.
Although this is the first appearance of Measles for Mac OS X, there’s actually a version available for much older versions of Mac OS which author Ben Haller said is “lost in the mists of time.” Hence, Measles appears as version 2.0.
Available for US$10, Measles 2.0 is ready for download from Stick Software’s Web site now. You can use it without paying the registration fee and you’ll incur no limitations, but you’re encouraged to pony up your ten bucks if you find it useful or fun.
