A-OK! The Wings of Mercury isn’t a game — it’s a meticulous recreation of what it was like to pilot the controls of America’s first manned space capsule, Project Mercury. The simulation recreates every gauge, light and switch you’d find on an actual Mercury capsule, and generates hundreds of failure scenarios to keep you on your toes.
The software also ships with A-OK! Mission Control Center, which simulates what it was like to work in NASA’s mission control during the Mercury missions.
Mac OS X native support isn’t the only change in the new version — the Mac OS 9 version has also been updated, and gets performance improvements in cloud rendering and mission startup time. The Mac OS X version also supports HID-compatible 3D joysticks.
A-OK! The Wings of Mercury costs US$59.95, or $29.95 if upgrading from version 2.x. The simulation is also in development for Windows, but is for the moment a Mac exclusive.
